The whole cricketing fraternity was shocked to know about former Australia cricketer Dean Jones’ sudden demise on Thursday afternoon. He was in Mumbai working for Star Sports in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) in the UAE. Jones was in the bio-secure bubble created by the official broadcasters of the cash-rich league and was even commentating on Wednesday during the match between MI and KKR.

A light-hearted person who always used to smile was in his zone again on Wednesday at work with his team. The likes of Irfan Pathan, Deep Dasgupta, Brett Lee among many others were working with him in the Star Sports studio and were staying in the same seven-star hotel in Mumbai.

All of them are stunned over the passing away of their dear friend and Irfan Pathan, while speaking to CricTracker, has recalled the time spent with him on Wednesday. Irfan also revealed that he spoke Jones’ 10-year-old son only on Monday while also stated that Dean Jones was telling him the stories of cricket in the 1980s.

“Everything was fine. Even yesterday he was working with us. Around us. We went in the car together. He was telling me the stories of old cricket of 80s. Everything was fine. Day before yesterday I even had vidoe call with his ten old years old son,” Irfan said. Irfan Pathan tweeted about the same as well while stating that everything was fine in the morning.
