Indian batsman Cheteshwar Pujara has been in somewhat of a purple patch of late. The 28-year old has been in tremendous form in the current series against England and is also on the road to making amends with the bat following a bit of a dry run in the West Indies.

However, the renaissance of the Indian batsman in Test matches is something that is clearly explained by Yorkshire’s club director Martyn Moxon. The latter has also gone on to state that Pujara had worked on his balance in the few months he spent in England with the Yorkshire county club whilst praising him for his humility and work ethic.

“The main thing Cheteshwar was working on when he was with us was his balance. He was ensuring that his head didn’t fall over to the off side. He had a great work ethic and is a very humble and kind man, who was very popular in the dressing room. He had a couple of low scores early in his stay but he scored an excellent hundred just before he left and showed his class and ability,“ he told The Times of India.

Jason Gillespie, the former Australian pacer also went on to laud Pujara and also credited the Saurashtra batsman for his impressive batsmanship in the ongoing series against England.
“I have been following his game. I’m a big Pujara fan. Though he didn’t really analyze much on England bowlers during his stay, he did spend time observing footage of bowlers he was going to face and spoke to his Yorkshire teammates about opponents,“ Gillespie told the Times of India.

Cheteshwar Pujara and his sensational form has been something of a mainstay in recent times. After being left out of the squad during the West Indies series he made a case for his selection in the Indian side following some tremendous batting performances in the Duleep Trophy that was played with the pink ball.
