September 24 will go down as a special date in Indian cricket as on this day in 2007, the Men in Blue became the inaugural T20 World Cup champions. It was truly a remarkable triumph as the Indian squad had many young and inexperienced players. However, the MS Dhoni-led side defied the odds and lifted the prestigious trophy in South Africa.

As India’s glorious triumph completed 14 years, many fans and players remembered the historic day. Veteran Indian off-spinner Harbhajan, who was part of the champion team, was also among those. The 40-year-old took to Twitter and shared a throwback picture of the team lifting the title. “When your FAITH becomes stronger than your FEAR … then your dream can become a reality #champions  #T20WorldCup2007 #TeamIndia,” read the caption.

While the comment section got flooded with congratulatory messages, a disgruntled netizen accused Harbhajan of cropping Dhoni from the picture. Apparently, the talismanic cricketer inserted a trophy emoji in the bottom left side of the picture. After coming across the post, the fan believed Dhoni is behind the trophy emoticon and Harbhajan has deliberately cropped him. “Nice Bhai Nicely Croped MSD Photo,” the social media user commented.

Harbhajan Singh roasts fan

The Kolkata Knight Riders spinner wasn’t amused after coming across the post as he decided to give it back to the fan. He posted the actual picture without the trophy emoticon to shut down the troll. “Now u can lick what u see in the picture I cropped,” he wrote. The picture showed that the emoticon was hiding a photographer in the frame and not MS Dhoni.

Meanwhile, Harbhajan played a pivotal role in taking India to glory in the gala T20 tournament. Being the lead spinner of the team, the Punjab-born bowler took seven wickets in as many games. As of now, both Dhoni and Harbhajan are plying their trade in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021. While the former Indian captain is leading CSK, the off-spinner is a part of the Kolkata-based out. Both veteran players haven’t been able to make a significant impact in the competition and would like to enhance their performance.
