Shardul Thakur and Yuzvendra Chahal were involved in a funny banter that has now gone viral. Three Indian teammates, KL Rahul, Shardul Thakur and Yuzvendra Chahal are sitting and having food, and that is when Thakur asks Rahul as to what is the budget that the Lucknow franchise has for him at the IPL mega auctions.

And to that, Rahul responds by stating that the Lucknow franchise will pick Thakur at his base price. And, that is when Chahal comes in and makes his comment.

Chahal states that people do not have a budget for God. Thakur is referred to as ‘Lord’ by his teammates, and Chahal was using this reference to pass a hilarious comment on his teammate.

KL Rahul was picked by Lucknow for INR 17 crores

The Lucknow franchise picked KL Rahul as one of their three draft picks ahead of the 2022 IPL mega auctions. Rahul will draw an astronomical salary of INR 17 Crores. Along with Rahul, the Lucknow franchise also picked the likes of Marcus Stoinis and Ravi Bishnoi.

While Aussie all-rounder Stoinis will draw a salary of INR 9.2 Crores, leg spinner Bishnoi was pouched by the Lucknow franchise for a sum of INR 4 Crores. On the other hand, both Yuzvendra Chahal and Shardul Thakur were not retained by their respective IPL franchises.

The IPL mega auctions will be held on 12th and 13th February 2022 in the city of Bangalore, ahead of the 15th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). IPL 2022 will be played by 10 teams, and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has also stated that the tournament is likely to commence in the last week of March.

The Chennai Super Kings (CSK) side won the 2021 edition of the IPL. The MS Dhoni-led side beat the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) outfit in the final of the competition to win their 4th IPL crown.
