The IPL Auction 2020 is underway in Kolkata at the moment and the first player to receive a bid in today’s event was Australian batsman, Chris Lynn. The fans billed him to emerge as one of the most expensive players of the auction however, he only got one bid as Mumbai Indians picked him up at his base price of 2 Crores INR. This surprised the fans because Lynn had earlier been purchased at a price of 9.60 Crores by Kolkata Knight Riders.

After joining the Mumbai Indians, Lynn expressed his excitement with the following tweet.

The Aussie listed the pros of joining the defending champions. He mentioned that Mumbai is a great city, Mumbai Indians is a quality franchise, Wankhede Stadium sports a flat wicket and, he will not have to face the toe-crusher Jasprit Bumrah in IPL 2020. This tweet went viral on the internet because the fans loved the way Lynn praised Bumrah’s bowling skills.

Mumbai Indians replied to him in the same manner by praising his batting skills.

Besides, Lynn also got a reply from the man himself, Jasprit Bumrah. The Ahmedabad-based pacer first welcomed him to the Mumbai Indians team. And then, he pointed out that the right-handed batsman will still have to face him in the nets.

Mumbai Indians have been the biggest winners of this year’s auction. First, they had signed the duo of Trent Boult and Sherfane Rutherford in the trade window and today, they added the Australian pair of Nathan Coulter Nile and Chris Lynn.

The batting order of Mumbai Indians has more firepower than ever because the Mukesh Ambani-owned franchise now has the services of Rohit Sharma, Quinton de Kock, Ishan Kishan, Kieron Pollard, Hardik Pandya, Krunal Pandya and Chris Lynn in their squad.

With their bowling line-up being equally talented, the other teams will definitely find it very hard to stop the 4-time champions from winning their second consecutive IPL championship. The final rounds of the auction are still left hence, it will be exciting to see if Mumbai Indians can still better their squad.
