Younis Khan goes down as one of the most classy batsmen Pakistan produced and one of the modern-day greats in the game. The right-hander ended his Test career as the most successful batsman in Pakistan’s history earlier this year and was a part of their success in this format. Younis led Pakistan to World T20 victory in 2009 as captain and also graced the ODI formats in the early part of his career.

On occasion of Younis Khan’s 40th birthday, we look at his international numbers:

5 – Number of hundreds he scored in the 4th innings in Test cricket. These are the most for any player in 4th innings of this format.


6 – Double centuries scored Younis hit in Test cricket. These are the joint most by a Pakistan player along with Javed Miandad. Only five players scored more double centuries than him in this format.


11 – Number of different countries in which Younis scored a hundred in Test cricket. He is the only player to have scored centuries in 11 different nations.


34 – Number of centuries he scored in Test cricket. These are the most for a Pakistan player and the joint 6th most by any player in this format.


118 – Number of Test matches he played; the 3rd most by any Pakistan player. He was a part of 46 wins, the 2nd most by any Pakistani.


139 – Number of catches Younis bagged in Test cricket. He is the only Pakistan player to take 100 catches as a fielder in Tests. Overall, only 11 players have taken more catches as a fielder in this format. Younis pouched 135 catches in ODI format as well which are the most for any Pakistan fielder and the joint 7th most by any player in the format.


313 – Younis’ 313 against Sri Lanka at Karachi in 2009 is the 3rd highest individual score for a Pakistan player in Test cricket.


3213 – His partnership runs with Misbah-ul-Haq in Test cricket are most for any Pakistan pair. Their 15 century stands in this format are also the most for a Pakistani pair with the next best being ten 100-run stands.


10099 – Runs Khan scored in Test cricket. He is the only Pakistan player and one of the 13 players in the Test history with 10000 runs.


17790 – Younis’ 17790 runs in International cricket for Pakistan are the 2nd most behind Inzamam-ul-Haq’s 20541. His 41 centuries are also the most by any player in International cricket for Pakistan.
