The IPL is underway in all its galore as the teams engross in a to lift the coveted title. In last night’s game, we had Sunrisers Hyderabad take on defending champions, Mumbai Indians. The Rohit Sharma led squad are the most successful team in the IPL so far, with three titles in their kitty.

However, Mumbai did not exactly enjoy a pleasant outing this season as they could only garner one win in the six games they have played so far. The squad as a unit has looked out of touch and Mumbai’s inability to convert close situations in their favour has cost them heavily.

Last night Mumbai was posed with a similar situation. After restricting SRH for a low score of 118, it was surprising that a star-studded batting lineup failed to deliver the goods. On the other hand, Kane Williamson marshalled his troops extremely well to emerge the winner in the low-scoring thriller.

Ecstatic with the win, SRH middle order batsman Yusuf Pathan took to his Twitter handle to celebrate the win. Pathan played a crucial knock of 29 yesterday to help his team post a respectable total.

The 35-year-old posted the tweet saying, “A win like this will go a long way to give our team boost in confidence. It is always a huge experience to be playing at the Wankhede and to win against Mumbai makes it special. #OrangeArmy#IPL @SunRisers.”

Batting first, SRH was bundled by MI for a measly total of 118 in 18.4 overs, courtesy some impeccable bowling display. With a trivial target to chase, MI looked confident of a win.

However, an equally destructive show by the Hyderabad bowlers took the game away from the defending champions, as they were all out for 87, losing the low scoring thriller by 31 runs.

Apart from Suryakumar Yadav (34) and Krunal Pandya (24), no Mumbai batsman could muster a double-digit score in their run chase. Poor shot selections coupled with some good bowling display by SRH saw Mumbai succumb to their fifth loss of the season.
