Well-known for his hard-hitting abilities, Yusuf Pathan sets the scoreboard on the wheels whenever he gets going irrespective of the format. Despite not being awarded a longer run in International cricket, Yusuf had made most of his calibre for the Baroda team and his IPL franchises and set a few records which stand fairly ahead of the next best.

Records and feats that Yusuf Pathan achieved with his blistering batting efforts:

2 – Number of hundreds he has scored in 40 or fewer balls in professional cricket. He scored a 37-ball century in the IPL and a 40-ball hundred in Vijay Hazare Trophy. David Miller is the only other player to have piled on two hundreds in 40 or fewer balls. He scored centuries in 35 and 38 balls respectively in the Twenty20 format.

15 – His 15-ball fifty for Kolkata Knight Riders against Sunrisers Hyderabad in 2014 is the joint fastest fifty in IPL history. Sunil Narine also scored a 15-ball fifty for KKR against RCB earlier this year. In T20 cricket, Yuvraj Singh (12 balls vs England, 2007) and Robin Uthappa (15 balls v Andhra, 2011) are only other Indians to own a fifty in 15 or fewer balls.

18 – His 18-ball fifty in the 2010 Deodhar Trophy Final for West Zone against North Zone is the fastest known fifty by an Indian in List A cricket.

18 – His 18-ball fifty in the Ranji Trophy 2012 against Vidarbha is the joint 2nd fastest fifty by an Indian in first-class cricket. Jammu and Kashmir’s Bandeep Singh scored a fifty off 15 balls in 2015 while Shakti Singh scored a fifty off 18 balls in 1990.

37 – Yusuf’s 37-ball hundred for the Rajasthan Royals against Mumbai Indians in 2010 was then the fastest hundred in the IPL. Only Chris Gayle in 2013 with his 30-ball century, bettered Yusuf’s record.

37 – His 37-ball IPL hundred is the fastest hundred by an Indian player in T20 cricket. Manpreet Juneja scored a 43-ball hundred for Gujarat in 2013.

40 – Yusuf’s 40-ball fifty in 2010 for Baroda against Maharashtra in the Vijay Hazare Trophy is the quickest hundred for an Indian and the 4th fastest century in List A cricket. The next fastest hundred by an Indian in this format is off 52 balls by Virat Kohli against Australia in 2013.

51 – Number of balls he took for his century in the Duleep Trophy, 2008 for West Zone against Central Zone. This is the 2nd fastest century by an Indian in first-class cricket behind Rishabh Pant’s 48-ball ton against Jharkhand last year.

210* – Yusuf’s 210* in the Duleep Trophy 2010 final puts him among the five Indians with a double hundred in the 4th innings of a first-class match. Y Venugopal Rao (228*), Sunil Gavaskar (221), VVS Laxman (203*) and Wriddhiman Saha (203*) are the other four players.
