Out of favor Indian middle order batsman Yuvraj Singh is arguably at the fag end of his career. Apart from trying to make a return into the national side, Yuvraj is also chasing the BCCI officials to get his dues. As per reports, the amount is somewhere close to Rs 3 crore. It is also believed that the matter has gone so far that the cricketer’s mother Shabnam is also trying to reach out to the officials.

Yuvraj is supposed to get the compensation amount for missing out on the first half of the last edition of the IPL. The southpaw suffered from an ankle injury while representing India at the 2016 World Cup. Since the BCCI insures contracts of all the Indian cricketers playing in the IPL, a player who fails to represent his franchise due to an injury sustained while playing for India will get compensation for the loss in income.

Yuvraj chases BCCI

“Yuvraj has written several letters to the BCCI officials and even his mother has been making the calls on his behalf. His Sunrisers teammate Ashish Nehra, who missed five games, has received his dues from the BCCI but surprisingly, Yuvraj’s case is in the limbo,” a BCCI source told Sportstar.

Yuvraj not in the mix

The 35-year old veteran all-rounder last turned out for India against West Indies in the ODI series, way back in the month of June. He had an ordinary Champions Trophy campaign before that, and hence the selectors opted for other options. The southpaw has been appointed as the vice-captain of the Punjab team for the Ranji Trophy, and he is likely to play in their next game after missing out on the Ranji opener against Himachal Pradesh due to a fitness test Yuvraj went through the fitness test at the NCA in Bangalore.
