The wait is finally ending as the much-awaited World Cup 2019 is just one day away from getting started in England. Hosts England will take on South Africa in the tournament opener at the Oval. But before the start of the main event, the world is busy predicting which team can go all the way and win the coveted trophy this summer. Unsurprisingly, most of the fans are backing their own countries to win the trophy.

Keeping up with the trend, cricket stalwarts Yuvraj Singh, Kevin Pietersen and Graeme Smith were also involved in a similar kind of interaction on Twitter. It all started when Yuvraj posted the World Cup promo on his Twitter handle and took a dig at England, South Africa for never winning the title.

The World Cup-winning star backed India to win the ‘Cricket ka Crown’ aka the World Cup, writing: “There has always been a slip between the ‘cup’ and the lip for #ENG and #SA! Pehla match ye khelenge, but #CricketKaCrown hum #LeJayenge!”

At the end of his tweet, Yuvraj cheekily tagged former England skipper Kevin Pietersen and the latter was quick to reply. Pietersen said that he has already seen the commercial before confidently stating that England are going to win the tournament. The former batsman responded saying: “I’ve seen it mate, but we both know #ENG are going all the way and bringing the ???? home! ???? So tell me if I’m saying this right: #CricketKaCrown hum #LeJayenge”

Graeme Smith interrupts:

Amidst all that, former South Africa skipper Graeme Smith could not help but show his loyalty for his country as he backed the Proteas to win their first ever World Cup. Taking a sly dig at England, and wrote: “Given that the English love tea, only makes sense that we Proteas go for the ????, right, @StarSportsIndia? ????
@KP24, I’ve got your back – here, some ☕ before the action begins!”

England and India are definitely the World Cup favourites. While England are currently the top-ranked ODI side in the world, India are breathing down their neck at the second spot.
