Yuvraj Singh shook England during the inaugural 2007 T20 World Cup when he smashed six 6s in a single over against them. Stuart Broad was the luckless bowler who was at the receiving end. Just before the historical over, Yuvi was famously sledged by Andrew Flintoff. There was drama on-field as both exchanged heated words between them. The fired up Yuvi then made the young and hapless Stuart Broad pay for the misbehavior and launched a brutal carnage at Kingsmead, Durban.
In an interview with former Bollywood actress Simi Garewal for Star World, Yuvi revealed the exact words which both the cricketers exchanged.
Recalling the incident, Yuvi said Flintoff told him, “Those were ******* ridiculous shots, because I had hit him for two boundaries in that over. I said **** you. Then he said, excuse me. I said you heard what I said. And he said I will cut your throat off. I said you see this bat in my hand. You know where I gonna hit you with this bat?”
When asked whether the heated exchange of words charged him up, the flamboyant left-hander said, “It got me really worked up. I was really angry and I just wanted to hit every ball out of the ground, just give it back. Sometimes, it’s good for you. Sometimes, it backfires. But on that day I think it backfired them.”
Yuvraj Singh is currently out of the Indian team after his recent poor outings in the Indian Premier League. He also claimed that he’s going to extend his career for at least one more year.
