Former India opener and BJP MP Gautam Gambhir is known for his pensive nature on and off the field. Gambhir was mostly seen sporting a straight face during the course of his playing career. Even after bidding adieu to the sport, Gambhir’s habit of not smiling much has not changed by a whisker.

Gambhir, on his social media, is known for lashing out at several issues. However, he has not shied away from posting hilarious self-roasting posts at many a time. Sharing a picture on Instagram, Gambhir showed his expression with fans whenever he edged an outswinger.

“After seeing myself edging an outswinging ball straight to the slip!” Gambhir captioned the picture.

Many fans reacted to Gambhir’s humorous side and former India all-rounder also joined the list. Reacting to the picture, Yuvraj posted a comment and wrote, “Chalo at least your emoji has smiled.”

Gambhir also hit back at Yuvraj and gave him a cheeky reply. “Prince the emoji is trolling me just like you do always,” responded Gambhir.

Along with proving his mettle with the national side, Gambhir was also considered as the game-changer for Kolkata Knight Riders. After joining the franchise in 2011, Gambhir changed the fortunes of the Kolkata franchise and steered them to two IPL trophies in 2012 and 2014.

Kolkata Knight Riders did not perform well before Gambhir was assigned the skipper’s role. Gambhir, with his exemplary leadership skills, took the franchise to a whole new level altogether. Recently, former KKR players Robin Uthappa and Yusuf Pathan also heaped praise on Gambhir’s captaincy skills.

Talking about Gambhir’s stint with the national side, the left-hander donned India jersey in 58 Tests and 147 ODIs where he amassed 4154 and 5238 runs respectively. Gambhir’s match-winning performance in the finals of T20 World Cup 2007 and ODI World Cup 2011 is still etched in the heart of every Indian fan.

Recently, Gambhir had hit out at former Pakistan skipper Shahid Afridi for his derogatory comments over India and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Gambhir had called Afridi a ‘joker’ for spewing venom against India.

“Pakistan has 7 lakh force backed by 20 crore people says 16-year-old man @SAfridiOfficial. Yet begging for Kashmir for 70 years. Jokers like Afridi, Imran & Bajwa can spew venom against India & PM @narendramodi ji to fool Pak ppl but won’t get Kashmir till judgment day! Remember Bangladesh?” Gambhir had tweeted.
