After the conclusion of the ODI series, the Indian cricket team members are presently enjoying some time off the game. The visitors won the five-match series comfortably by coming out on top in the first three games quite comprehensively. Though the Black Caps made a comeback in the fourth ODI, the Men in Blue bounced back in style to beat the home team by 35 runs in the fifth and final ODI to clinch the series 4-1.

After the series, the stand-in captain Rohit Sharma was found spending some time alone in the attractive destination of Wellington. The dashing opener also posted his pictures on Instagram along with the caption which read, ”Nothing better than connecting with nature on a rest day!#WellingtonOnPoint”.

Though, Rohit’s post was bombed by his teammate and close friend Yuzvendra Chahal. The leg spinner is known to share a great comradeship both on and off-field with the former. Chahal like always was witty in his reply on Rohit’s post and wrote, “Picture Credits – @rohitsharma”. Even Yuvraj Singh joined the conversation hilariously and lauded Rohit Sharma’s hairstyle.

India’s comeback in the fifth ODI

The Indian captain also expressed his happiness after his team hard-fought win in Wellington. The Indian team were once again strangled by the new ball bowlers of New Zealand as they were reduced to just 18/4 within the first ten overs of the game. The under-fire Indian middle-order was though up for the challenge and the team recovered quite well to post a score of 252 runs in quite difficult batting conditions.

Ambati Rayudu and Vijay Shankar batted with a lot of patience against the home team and shared a 98-run partnership to bail India out of the situation. Hardik Pandya played a little cameo in the end and scored 45 off just 22 balls to give some momentum to the Indian side while going in the innings break.

After that, the Indian bowlers bowled tight lines and got both the New Zealand’s openers out inside the first ten overs. The hosts tried to turn the tables but the Indian team never allowed a partnership to flourish and eventually went on to win the game by 35runs. The two teams will now play a three-match T20 series starting from Wednesday in Wellington.
