Royal Challengers Bangalore leading spinner this season, Yuzvendra Chahal, was certainly pleased with the win against the Gujarat Lions that saw them through to the finals. However, he had a word of apology for the man of the moment, AB de Villiers.

It was all joyous scenes at the Chinnaswamy when AB de Villiers held the plot for the succumbing RCB and put on a 91-run stand with Iqbal Abdulla to seal the match for them. The players were out on the middle and celebrated in joy. Yuzvendra Chahal, in his excitement, jumped on AB de Villiers. His jump turned a little too animated as the helmet grill was pushed back, hitting the chin of AB.

Later, when the South African turned up for the presentation, a deep red mark could be seen on his chin which he endured as a result of the hit of the grill. Later, the leg spinner from Haryana took to twitter to apologize to his teammate. He commended the efforts of AB de Villiers and Iqbal Abdulla too.

English bowler Stuart Broad posted a short video of the same incident on Twitter. He called it a whiplash.

Earlier in the day, Royal Challengers Bangalore were struggling at 29/5 during their chase of 158 against the Gujarat Lions. The men in form, Virat Kohli and Chris Gayle, were back in the dugout and it was all down to the Proteas batsman to take them through. He first put on a brief stand with Stuart Binny and then an unbeaten 91 run stand with Abdulla to put the Royal Challengers over the line.

With the win, the RCB have now reached the finals of the mega tournament. They will play the winner of the Qualifier 2 on 29 May. At the end of the day, it was exciting to see how the RCB team put a great performance in front of the home crowd. Luckily for them, they have to play their finals at Bengaluru as well.
