Zaheer Khan attends Daredevils 10th anniversary event with fiancé Sagarika Ghatge

The ongoing season of the IPL is the 10th in its history. Ever since the IPL’s first season in 2008, the tournament has been a regular feature every year during the months of April and May. On completing the first decade franchises are also celebrating their 10th anniversary and it was no different with Delhi Daredevils, who is one of the six franchises to be around since 2008.

Skipper Zaheer Khan was present at the event along with the team owners and other players. He has been the captain of the side since last year and is doing a great job grooming the youngsters in the Daredevils set-up. He was accompanied by Bollywood actress Sagarika Ghatge, who Zaheer got engaged to very recently. The couple got engaged during the ongoing IPL and took it to Twitter to announce their life long commitment.

Young batsmen Sanju Samson and Rishabh Pant were also present at the event as the Twitter handle of the franchise tweeted a picture of the event.

Delhi Daredevils have never played the finals of the IPL but have topped the league stages twice, once in 2009 and the other in 2012. Since then the Daredevils have fallen apart as their side was revamped. They have struggled to qualify for the playoffs and have finished in the bottom three in the points table every year.

This season too they are already out of the reckoning for a place in the final four. DD are ranked second from the bottom, ahead of just RCB, with 4 wins from 11 games. They started the season well by getting two wins from their first three games but since then have gone on to lose 6 games out of the next 8.

Delhi must already start preparing for the next season. Injuries to their star players Quinton de Kock and JP Duminy didn’t exactly help their cause. They need to invest in a couple of players to make an impact next year.
