Zaheer Khan set to retire from International cricket

Zaheer Khan set to retire from International cricket: India’s left-arm pacer Zaheer Khan is set to call it a day from international cricket as he is to announce his retirement from all forms of international cricket today. Zaheer who debuted for India along with left-armer Yuvraj Singh against Kenya back in 2000 has been, one of India’s top pacer over the years and has featured in 92 Tests for the country and accounted for 311 Test wickets. He is at the moment and will retire as India’s 4^th highest wicket taker in Test cricket. Zak last played a Test for India against New Zealand in 2014 at Wellington and has been out of the squad since then.

The paceman has also featured in 200 ODIs for India and has picked 282 wickets also being the 4^th highest wicket taker in the history of Indian ODI cricket.

Zaheer Khan was at the top of his game during the World Cup 2011 and played a crucial role in India’s victory being the joint highest wicket taker along with Pakistan’s Shahid Afridi. Zak last featured in the blue jersey way back in 2012 in an ODI against Sri Lanka at Pallekele and since then has been struggling with fitness and form alike.

The 37-year-old has finally taken the call which would have been the toughest decision of his life. IPL chairman Rajeev Shukla tweeted that Zaheer will announce his retirement today.
