Zimbabwe announces incoming tour of India

Zimbabwe will host India for three one-day internationals and three T0 matches in June, the country’s cricket board said on Tuesday.

All the matches will be played at Harare Sports Club with the ODIs scheduled to be played between June 11-15 and the T20s during the June 18-22.

“After finalising all the formalities with the Board of Control for Cricket in India, we are pleased to announce the incoming tour scheduled for this June,” Zimbabwe Cricket managing director Wilfred Mukondiwa said in a statement.

India has been regular travelers to Zimbabwe in recent seasons with three previous tours since 2010, including last year, In 2015, India played 3 ODIs and 2 T20Is all at the Harare Sports Club. The second string side led by Ajinkya Rahane defeated the homed by a clean 3-0 margin. The Zimbabweans, however, did well in the T20 series. They managed to end the series with a 1-1 scoreline coming back from a loss.

The tour gave opportunities to the promising players who were waiting in the wings. Wicket-keeper batsman Ambati Rayudu emerged as the highest run-getter of the tour with 165 runs in two games which included a wonderful 124 run knock in the opening game. Stuart Binny also capitalised the opportunity and displayed wonderful all-round performance. The seam-bowling all-rounder made 120 runs and took 6 wickets in three games.
