Zimbabwe name two uncapped players for South Africa Test

Zimbabwe Cricket recently announced the 15-man squad for the Boxing Day Test against South Africa. The two African nations are all set to feature in the first ever day-night Test of the two countries. Also, the match would be the first ever four-day Test match in the history of the game. South Africa will be hosting Zimbabwe at the St. George’s Park, Port Elizabeth.

In the Zimbabwean squad, the selectors have gone on to select two uncapped cricketers – Ryan Burl and Blessing Muzarabani. Muzarabani is a 21-year old pace bowler who plays for the Rising Stars in the First Class cricket. He had recently made his First Class debut this season and had scalped 18 wickets at an average of 18. He will be bowling with the likes of Kyle Jarvis, Chris Mpofu and the recalled Tedai Chatara in the squad.

On the other hand, Ryan Burl is a batsman who has had a experience of international cricket already. The 23-year old southpaw has played 9 ODIs for Zimbabwe already. He has a healthy average of 40 in the First Class cricket after having played 17 matches thus far. He has hit one century to go along with 9 fifties.

The selectors have name Graeme Cremer as the captain of the squad. Brendan Taylor, who recently returned back to international cricket, after having given up his Kolpak contract with English county Nottinghamshire.

Meanwhile, four cricketers have faced an axe from the squad. Sean Williams, Malcolm Waller, Michael Chinouya and Nyasha Mayavo have been dropped from the side that recently lost the home Test series against West Indies a month ago.
