8. Dinesh Karthik – Dipika Pallikal
Squash player Dipika Pallikal hated cricketers for all the attention they used to get. The same was the case with Dinesh Karthik when they met first for a fitness session under Shankar Basu. The wicketkeeper-batsman, however, was out bowled for her looks.
Both of them started interacting and Dipika’s perception began to change slowly. In 2013, when Dinesh went to England just to meet her, Dipika Pallikal fell for him. He used to spend time watching her play squash and even had a go at the sport.
Slowly, as they spent more time together, they understood each other better. After India won the Champions Trophy in 2013, Dinesh proposed to her in London. They made their relationship official by getting engaged in 2013 followed by the wedding ceremony in 2015. Dipika often cheers her husband from the stands in the IPL.
