10 Players to watch out for in the BBL 2015-16: The Big Bash League (BBL) is not even a week away and the buzz is as strong as ever. The fifth season promises to be faster and more furious compared to the previous seasons. The 2015-16 season of the BBL will be contested between eight teams over eight rounds. The tournament begins on 17th of December and final is slotted for January 24th. Here are the 10 Players to watch out for in the BBL 2015-16 1. Chris Gayle: Chris Gayle. (© Getty Images) The calypso king is currently striking big at the Bangladesh Premier League and he would look to shower more sixes in the upcoming Big Bash League. He has smashed 596 sixes so far in T20’s while registering 647 boundaries. The fans will hope for a Gayle storm and Melbourne Renegades will wish for the same. He blasted the fastest half-century in Australian domestic cricket by notching up a fifty in just 19 balls in the year 2011. Maxwell can strike big and has all the shots in his kitty. It will be interesting to see how he goes about things in the upcoming season. 3. Kieron Pollard: Kieron Pollard. (Photo Source: Caribbean Premier League) Trinidad’s talismanic batsman Kieron Pollard can take on any lethal bowling attack in the cricketing circuit. He boasts a strike rate of 142.18 in ODIs and has the ability of snatching wins from the jaws of defeat. Known as a “Twenty20 specialist”, Adelaide Strikers will be more than happy to have this dynamic all-rounder by their side. 4. Dwayne Bravo: Dwayne Bravo. He is a vital cog in any teams set up, Bravo can break partnerships with his slower one’s and possess the charisma of playing a cameo with the willow too. Having his countryman Chris Gayle in the lineup, Bravo will look to do some gig. 5. Kevin Pietersen: Kevin Pietersen. He has been out in the cold since 2014, and with chances of making it to the English squad looking dim, KP will be eager to gain some attention. With the likes of Glenn Maxwell, former teammate Luke Wright and David Hussey in the lineup, Pietersen will look to join the party from the very start. 6. Kumar Sangakkara: Kumar Sangakkara. (© Getty Images) Sri Lankan legendary batsman Kumar Sangakkara has a lot of time in his hand after hanging up his boots from the international scenario. He can be seen plundering sixes at Los Angeles and stepping out to the likes of Shahid Afridi in Dhaka. “Sanga” will once again be the man to watch out for when he takes the field for Hobart Hurricanes. 7. Jacques Kallis: Jacques Kallis. (Photo Source: Associated Press) “King Kallis” can calmly knock down singles and smash thundering blows when matters. With the ball in hand, Jacques Kallis can castle the furniture and produce a match-winning spell too. Sydney Thunder will be happy to rope in the legendary all-rounder, as the Sydney side looks young and his experience will be a much-needed addition. 8. Brad Hogg: Brad Hogg KKR. (Photo Source: BCCI) At 44 years and 308 days, the slow left-arm chinaman bowler is not getting any younger, but the former Australian World Cup winner still hasn’t lost the touch. His impressive performance (4/29) against Chennai Super Kings in this years IPL must have left many spectators in astonishment and Hogg will look to repeat the same when he turns up to play for the Perth Scorchers. 9. Though Shaun Tait is no longer an international cricketer now, he has been among wickets recently playing for Essex and Tait will look to seize the opportunity this time around in the BBL 2015 and make it count. 10. Josh Hazelwood: Josh Hazlewood. (© Getty Images) He knows how to cash in on opportunities, Josh Hazelwood put up a brilliant show against New Zealand in the recently concluded historic day/night Test match. Ace pacer Mitchell Starc is likely to miss the league and this will be an opportunity for Hazelwood to show his mettle in the shortest format, playing for Sydney Sixers.
