3 Teams that can give tough fight to Mumbai Indians in IPL 2022

The Mumbai Indians (MI) are the most successful franchise in the history of the Indian Premier League (IPL). The Rohit Sharma-led outfit has won the IPL title a record five times and won’t mind getting the glory once more in the 2022 edition.

Ever since the ‘Hitman’ took over as the skipper, the ‘Men in Blue and Gold’ have dominated the IPL, and have emerged as a major powerhouse. But then, the 2022 edition of the IPL has gotten bigger, with the addition of two new IPL franchises – Lucknow Super Giants and Gujarat Titans.

3. Chennai Super Kings

The rivalry between the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and the Mumbai Indians (MI) is arguably the greatest in IPL history. CSK and MI are two of the most successful franchises, that have won a staggering nine IPL titles between them, and have always provided the fans with riveting battles.

In the 2021 edition of the tournament, both these teams met twice and won one game each. MS Dhoni’s CSK bought back some of their long-standing soldiers in the 2022 IPL mega auction. The likes of Robin Uthappa, Deepak Chahar, and Ambati Rayudu all returned back to CSK.

Needless to say, in the 2022 edition of the IPL too, CSK will pose a threat to Mumbai Indians (MI), and the contest between the two teams will keep fans at the edge of their seats.
