The ICC had introduced the World Test Championship with an aim of reviving the longest format of the game. The tournament began in mid-2019 with the prestigious Ashes series. By now, all the teams have kicked off their respective ICC World Test Championship campaigns and India has emerged as the most successful team.

The Virat Kohli-led outfit has won every match in its first three series as they have cemented the top spot of the standings with 360 points. They had first blanked West Indies in the Caribbean before whitewashing South Africa and Bangladesh at home. So far, the Indian unit has seemed to be unstoppable in the numbered whites.

Their batting has bowling have delivered equally and the current bunch is a balanced lot. However, some teams may bring an end to their stupendous run of form.

Here are the 3 teams that might give a tough fight to Virat Kohli and co. in the World Test Championship –

New Zealand has been one of the most consistent sides of this decade. They have an incredible record at the ICC events as they had reached the final of the 2015 and the 2019 World Cup while they had also made it to the semifinals of the 2011 World Cup and the 2016 World T20 on Indian soil.

Apart from that, the Kiwis had also defeated India the last time these two teams met in New Zealand. Hence, India will find it really tough to beat the Kane Williamson-led outfit in this tournament.

The Black Caps have dominated England in the ongoing Test series between the two teams and hence, the cricket fraternity can back them to give India a run for their money in 2020. Also, this is a 2-Test series which is why the Indian players may not get the time to get adjusted to the Test cricket conditions in New Zealand.
