On a cricket field, Jasprit Bumrah is pretty much the person who likes to mind his own business. He seems like a cricketer whose game is to remain calm and not get carried away when things are not going his way. Bumrah has been a key bowler for the Indian team in the last few years and has been rated as one of the best bowlers currently.

Even if one is a very calm person, there must be some situations in which one’s calmness can be compromised. It is what happened when Bumrah and Marco Jansen collided during the third day of the Johannesburg Test.

In the article, let’s take a look at three incidents when Jasprit Bumrah was involved in sledging

1. Jasprit Bumrah vs AB de Villiers

This happened a long time before Bumrah became the bowler he is today. During an episode of ‘What The Duck’ in 2017, Bumrah admitted that he sledged AB de Villiers after getting his wicket in IPL 2014. AB didn’t see his reaction and went back to the dressing room.

After the match, Bumrah received a lot of heat from social media regarding him sledging someone of the caliber of AB de Villiers. Bumrah added that he didn’t like to sledge opponents and tried to remain calm. He also noted that when one gets angry, one sometimes try to do the opposite of what is planned, and this can hamper one’s performance.

De Villiers has now retired from all forms of cricket and will not feature in the upcoming edition of the IPL. Hence, fans would not witness a contest between these two anymore. De Villiers had a dominant run against Bumrah in the IPL as he scored 112 runs and was dismissed only twice. The incident that Bumrah was talking about occurred on May 6, when he bowled de Villiers for a mere nine runs.
