Ganguly was batting for Kolkata Knight Riders and he was caught by Graeme Smith but the prince of Kolkata was not sure about it. He insisted the umpires went upstairs which angered the Rajasthan Royals captain Shane Warne.

This is the very first edition of IPL, the TV umpire does not have conclusive evidence and hence rules it in the favor of the batsman. This sets of Warne completely. However, Ganguly did not make any difference as he walked back the very next over but that led to some harsh comments from Warne after the match.

Warne said “If an international captain like Graeme Smith caught it and said it was a clean catch and Rudi Koertzen said he caught it. And anyway, the players aren’t allowed to ask for the umpire. But Sourav asked the Indian umpire to go to the TV replay. That’s not in the spirit of the game so I was very, very disappointed with Sourav.”
