<p>David Warner is an absolute force in white-ball cricket, whether it is home or away. But, the same isn’t true in the purest format of the game- Test cricket. While Warner has been a mean run-scoring juggernaut in home conditions in Test cricket, his struggles overseas have mirrored Australia’s shoddy returns away from home in the past five years. And, the only saving grace has been Steven Smith.</p>
<p>The glaring difference between Warner’s home-and-away exploits was on full show in 2019. While the southpaw could only manage a sum total of 96 runs in 10 Ashes innings in England, he broke a slew of records once he returned home against the likes of Pakistan and New Zealand.</p>
<p>The only country barring Australia where Warner has done fairly well is South Africa- 760 runs in 6 matches at an average of 63.33. But in two of the toughest conditions for an Australian cricketer- England and India- Warner hasn’t been able to come up with similar performances. While he averages 26.04 in 13 Tests in England, the southpaw has only managed 388 runs in eight Tests in India at an average of 24.25.</p>
<p>Overall, Warner has played 39 overseas Tests, in which he has managed 2521 runs at an average of 33.17, which is a stark dip from 65.94 in 43 home Tests [4484 runs].</p>
