One of the many takeaways from the recently concluded Test series between India and New Zealand was that Umesh Yadav [with an SG ball in Indian conditions] and Umesh Yadav [with Kookaburra and Dukes ball in any other conditions around the world] are two different entities.

While Umesh has been one of the spearheads of the Indian pace attack, thanks to his ability to control the reverse-swinging ball, the same cannot be said about his exploits in overseas conditions. And, one of the main reasons behind that is Umesh has often struggled to control the Kookaburra and the Dukes in overseas conditions.

In 28 home Tests, Umesh has claimed 96 wickets at an average of 24.54 which shoots up to 42.23 in 18 overseas Tests [48 wickets].
