The Semi-Final of the 2016 T20 World Cup was one of those days where everything went wrong for Team India. After Yuvraj opted out of the World Cup midway because of injury, the squad had limited options. But, they did make a blunder in team selection.

With the match being played at Wankhede, one would have expected that the team should have gone with more bowling options. However, they opted for Ajinkya Rahane. The Maharastra-based batter is a solid player, but there were better options for India.

Rahane scored just 40 runs from 35 balls. As India lost the game in the final over, it seemed like India had put on a below-par score of 192. There were two scenarios, either, Rahane could have scored with a better pace. Or, they could have gone with an extra bowler, who would have bowled them over in place of a bowler who had a poor outing.
