The Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) don’t really have a good history with mega auctions. They didn’t really have a good mega auction in 2018. RCB have a bad habit of going for another big and expensive overseas batsman to accompany Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers instead of getting a good overseas seamer.

RCB went for Shane Watson in the 2016 auction and although he was decent with the ball, Waston didn’t really fire for RCB consistently. They then got Shimron Hetmyer in the 2019 auction and even that turned out to be a bad decision. To make matters worse, they even let go of Morris in the recently concluded auction in 2021.

Besides, they now have Glenn Maxwell to compliment Kohli and de Villiers. There are going to be a lot of good options among the overseas fast bowlers to choose from in the mega auction in 2022. Thus, RCB should not repeat their mistakes from the past and look to get a good overseas fast bowler.
