After the poor performance in the World Cup 2019, there has been a lot of debacle about the captaincy. Many fans and experts want a change in leadership. They’ve lashed out at the current skipper Sarfaraz Ahmed for his poor captaincy and unthoughtful moves in the tournament.

However, Pakistan doesn’t have a proven leader amongst the youngsters at the moment. Babar Azam has led the team in Youth ODIs and is a potential option. Imad Wasim could also be a possibility. While there has been some chatter about Imam-ul-Haq, he isn’t really a captaincy material.

Imam is usually quite passive on the field. There isn’t a great deal of aggression in his game and hasn’t got much of an experience leading a team. While he might be quite good with the bat, Imam-ul-Haq is one of those players you wouldn’t want to consider as the skipper of the team.
