The Mumbai stalwart Abhishek Nayar looked promising as a medium-pace-all-rounder. He was also given a chance to feature in Indian team for an ODI series against West Indies. However, the cricketer failed to make a mark and could never make a comeback in the ODI team again.

Speaking about his performance in the Indian Premier League, Abhishek made his debut with Mumbai Indians where he performed decently. However, his form dipped after that and he could never recover. The cricketer had played for a lot of teams since 2008 but he could never score a 50 or average more than 30.

The all-rounder was again given a chance when Pune Warriors placed their bets on him for an amount of Rs. 3.5 crores. Leaving the franchise disappointed, Nayar could score just 66 runs in 11 games at an average of 11.00.
