In the early years of 2010s, Daniel Christian looked like a perfect fit for a T20 team. He was seen as someone who could hit the big shots, bowl medium pace and was a decent fielder. Though Dan lacked experience, on the basis of potential, the Deccan Chargers bought him at a massive price of Rs. 6.7 crores at the 2011 auctions.

However, the all-rounder didn’t fare well in the tournament and couldn’t justify the money. Dan averaged 17.27 with the bat but could scalp only 11 wickets for his team. He also happened to cost the Chargers a game when he conceded 18 runs in the final over to Mumbai Indians.

His performance in the 2011 edition of the cash-rich league resulted in a decline in his value as he was bought by Royal Challengers Bangalore for Rs. 74.8 lakh the next year, an amount almost 90% lower. Though the Australian cricketer has featured in many teams in his IPL journey, he has failed to live up to the expectations.
