Khaleel Ahmed’s name has not been heard in selection discussion for quite some time now. The last match that he played for the Indian team was in November of 2019 and since then he has not been in the reckoning for a place in the Indian team. One of the prime reasons for his exit has been his inconsistency deliver at the time where he is needed the most.

His economy in almost all of the T20I series where has bowled more than 10 overs has been in excess of 9 runs an over, going as high as 10.55. Khaleel’s health and form haven’t been at their best in the recent past and this has led to his exit from the team. In the last 8 matches that he played in the Indian team, his numbers were impressive. He was able to get 11 wickets and with the India A team, he was able to get 6 wickets in his last two matches before being ruled out due to an injury.

Though these numbers might look decent enough, and his competitors in the current time are doing way better than he is. And, the new selection committee might not give him a place in the Indian squad until he does something exceptional in the IPL or the domestic circuit.
