Bangladesh is currently busy celebrating the 100th birth ceremony of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the father of the Bengal nation. After naming the BPL after the legendary figure, the country is gearing up to host a couple of T20Is on March 18 and March 21, featuring Asia XI and World XI.

The matches will be played at the iconic Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur. Preparations for those matches have already kicked off. No Pakistan players will be a part of the Asia XI. On the other hand, BCCI has confirmed five Indian players’ participation.

Sourav Ganguly, the president of the world’s richest cricket board, will decide who features in the games. The matches can also be a chance for a few players to further establish their credentials in the T20 format.

In the article, let’s take a look at five Indian players who can travel to Bangladesh for the World XI series:-

KL Rahul didn’t get a whole lot of chances in T20Is mostly due to the presence of the established opening pair of Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan. The Karnataka batter was in and out of the national team, but lady luck smiled on him before India’s T20I series versus the West Indies.

Dhawan was ruled out due to a knee injury and Rahul grabbed the chance with both hands, scoring 164 runs. Now with Rohit making himself unavailable for the Sri Lanka T20Is, Rahul has another opportunity to pile more runs.

In 2019, the youngster played nine T20Is where he racked up 356 runs with an average 44.50, striking at 142.40. Most importantly, he scored four fifties. The series in Bangladesh can be another chance for Rahul to create more headaches for the selectors surrounding the opening slots.
