ODI cricket returns to India after almost a year and the opponents are none other than the mighty South Africans. While every player would be inching to give his best, there are certain players who have to prove a point or two to their detractors.

5. Stuart Binny:

India has finally started to look at other all-rounders now that Ravindra Jadeja has lost his touch completely. Jadeja had a dismal World Cup and his sacking is well justified. This provides an opportunity to Stuart Binny who spent the most part of the Australian summer warming the bench. Binny will be excited to get his first full run with the ODI team.

He was at most times picked as the reserve all-rounder, this time though, being India’s premier all-rounder, there will be a lot of pressure on him. He would love to get his IPL form into the International circuit and become a regular fixture in the Indian line-up. He could be utilized as a good lower order batsman with an option of bowling seam-up, an option India hardly ever had in the recent past, barring Irfan Pathan.

This will also be a test for Binny as he will always be under the spotlight for he has replaced none other than Sir Jadeja.  Binny’s big hitting might come in handy in crunch situations and he might assume the role of a finisher. Let the games begin and we shall see what Binny brings to the table this time apart from drinks.
