Tim Southee is an experienced campaigner from New Zealand and can deliver the goods in tough situations. It was the 19th over of the innings, and Tim started the proceedings with a slower ball on the stumps which was played to long-on by Shubman for a single. The second ball delivered by the Kiwi was a length ball on stumps, and it was deposited by the Muscle Russell to the deep mid-wicket stands. The pacer panicked and bowled a wide bumper, which was sliced by the WI all-rounder for a maximum over deep backward point.

At the halfway mark Southee changed his bowling side but the fortunes didn’t. Russell dumped the nut over the long-on boundary. In the following ball, the Kiwi pacer bowled a bouncer at the stumps but Andre ramped it over Parthiv Patel’s head for a boundary. For the final ball, Southee again tried to change his length, but it resulted in a full ball at the stumps which was disposed by the beast over long-off. He gave away 29 runs playing his first game of the season, and it turned out to be a nightmare.
