England and the West Indies will contest the World T20 final at perhaps India’s most iconic venue, the Eden Gardens in Kolkata on Sunday, the 3rd of April. Despite their current status in international cricket, there have been many elements that have indeed been vital components in their road to the final. Despite each and every player from the two teams contributing in their own ways, we take a look at five players who can make a difference in the context of the big final.

1. Lendl Simmons:

Lendl Simmons wasn’t originally a part of the West Indies side that had been sent to the subcontinent due to an injury. But an injury to Andre Fletcher saw him board a direct flight from Trinidad to do battle. The battlefield was a brown and fat Wankhede wicket and Simmons was a replacement battleship. Despite surviving two scares early on in his innings, the 31-year old smashed, cut, pulled, crushed and decimated the Indian bowling attack. If even MS Dhoni has no answer for him, then you know that he is unstoppable. He smashed 82 runs as the Windies pummeled their way to the final. However, in the context of the final, the Mumbai wicket is completely opposite from the Kolkata wicket. Eyes will be on him as he will certainly attempt to replicate his heroics from the previous match.
