With Ravindra Jadeja being the first choice and the rise of spin bowling all-rounders like Axar Patel, Abhishek Sharma, Rahul Tewatia, Shahbaz Ahmed, and Washington Sundar, <a href="https://www.crictracker.com/lucky-kieron-pollard-didnt-react-sunil-gavaskar-not-impressed-with-krunal-pandyas-send-off/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Krunal Pandya</a> might not get to play for India again. The senior Pandya made it to the Indian side after executing good performances for Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League.
The left-arm orthodox has played 19 T20Is for India and has picked up 15 wickets at a bowling average of 36.93. He has also scored 124 runs at a strike rate of 130.53. After playing several seasons with Mumbai Indians, Krunal was picked by the Lucknow Supergiants for IPL 2022. He has played 92 IPL games and has scored 1255 runs and scalped 58 wickets to his name.
As far as IPL 2022 is concerned, he has picked seven wickets and has scored 112 runs in eight games. Krunal last played a T20I in July 2021 and was not considered for the 2021 ICC T20 World Cup. Krunal is already 31 years old and the management might think of a young all-rounder who can serve the team for a long time rather than picking him.

The flamboyant southpaw from Delhi used to be an automatic choice for T20Is but is not being considered anymore because of his age. <a href="https://www.crictracker.com/shikhar-dhawan-has-been-a-serious-player-ravi-shastri-lauds-the-senior-indian-batter-after-his-match-winning-knock-vs-csk/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Shikhar</a> is a regular feature on the Indian ODI side but it seems that the selectors have made it clear that he will not be considered for the shortest format. He last played a T20I in July 2021 against Sri Lanka.
The southpaw will turn 37 this year and that’s a valid reason behind not being considered. As of now, Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul are the first-choice openers for India in T20Is. Despite facing ignorance from the selectors Shikhar is doing pretty well in IPL 2022. He is a senior pro batter and is enjoying his cricket at the moment.
Dhawan has played 68 T20Is for India scoring 1759 runs at an average of 27.92 and a strike rate of 126.4. He has played 200 games in his IPL career and is currently second on the list of all-time leading runs scorers in IPL. He is playing for the Punjab Kings in IPL 2022 scoring 302 runs at an average of 43.14 in eight games.

With the emergence of IPL, the contenders to feature in India’s shortest format has increased quite a lot.
