A talented batsman who represents Mumbai in the domestic arena, Suryakumar Yadav often known as ‘SKY’ made his name while playing for the Kolkata Knight Riders in his initial years of the IPL. He would come in as a finisher and end up scoring some quick runs with the innovative gameplay that he had.

It was the Mumbai Indians who picked him up in the IPL 2018 auction. The Mumbai franchise realized his potential and promoted him to the top of the order. He did not disappoint as he ended up scoring in excess of 400 runs in both the seasons since then. 2018 though was his breakthrough season where he had ended up scoring 512 runs for his side.

In the current season too, he has scored 283 runs in eleven matches and has looked in very good touch batting in the middle order. He is perhaps a player who can bat at any position as he has the experience of both building an inning as well as finishing it. Therefore, it came in as a huge surprise to see his name missing from the players list announced for the Australia limited-overs tour.
