Sourav Ganguly was the face of the Kolkata Knight Riders team in the 2010 season. The legendary batsman shone for the Shah Rukh Khan-owned franchise in season three of IPL. He was the team’s best batsman as Ganguly aggregated 493 runs in 14 innings at a magnificent average of 37.92.

It is worth noting that none of the other KKR batsmen managed to touch the 300-run mark in the 2010 season. Meanwhile, Sourav scored four half-centuries for his team. He also recorded the highest individual score (88) by a KKR batsman in that tournament.

The BCCI announced a mega-auction for the 2011 season. While it was widely expected that Dada would stay at KKR, he returned to the auction, where he did not find any bidders. Ultimately, Pune Warriors signed him as a replacement player.
