5 Reasons why India could take lead in the 3rd ODI: After a settling and equally calm performance at Indore, the Indian team looks all healthy and is likely to take a lead in the third ODI to be held at Rajkot. In the second ODI, the bowling performances of the Indian team looked promising and most of the bowlers were in the hunt for wickets right from the word “GO”. In total, the third ODI is going to be a cracker of a contest. Judging by the prospective of Indian team and from the positivity of an Indian supported, here are five reasons why the third ODI is going to be tilted in India’s favour.

1.Rohit Sharma’s batting form:

With 153 runs in the current ODI series, which succeeded the 128 runs made by him in the T20 series, Rohit Sharma is surely a man in form for the Indian team and the Indian team seems to have possessing ample prospects in the game due to his blistering form at the present. Also, he has maintained a healthy strike rate of over 100 in the series.

2.MS Dhoni’s batting resurgence:

Much has been talked about Dhoni’s form of late. But the coolest contender of the game answered all his critics in prime style by scoring a smashing knock of 92 runs off 86 deliveries in the second ODI. He struck 4 sixes and 7 fours in the knock. Also, this match registered his 16th fifty as a captain which again shows his degree of responsibility as the captain of the Indian team.

3.Rajkot’s stern history:

There has been only a single ODI at this stadium, but it went against India’s favour. In spite of that, this ground holds something good for India from the past. India chased down a total of over 200 runs at this very venue in a T20I against Australia in 2013. This is something which will indeed provide the Men in Blue with goosebumps as they step into the field on Saturday.

4.Promising efforts of Indian bowling:

Defending a total of just 247 runs is never a matter of joke and chances are always inclined towards the batting side. All of the Indian bowlers managed to take wickets and managed to bundle the South African line up at a score of 223 runs. Bhuvaneshwar Kumar struck 3 wickets. Even Harbhajan did fill up the void of Ashwin to a brilliant extent.

5.Fielding acting as a catalyst:

Before coming into the field for defending 247 runs, Dhoni asked his men to put up ecstatic fielding efforts to neutralize the 20-30 runs that they were unable to make. And indeed, the Indian fielding was ecstatic to say the least. Especially the catches taken by Virat Kohli to dismiss De Villiers and Du Plessis charged up the entire team and put the team back on track to cease victory.
