5 Reasons why Delhi Daredevils couldn’t hit the winning note in IPL8: The Delhi Daredevils side has the unfortunate record of being the only unit that hasn’t made it to the finals in the past 8 years of their participation in the Indian Premier League. They’ve tried to be up and ready before the start of every season but have somehow lost the plot each time and have ended up on the other side. The side never really lived up to their name daredevils, and have put up not-so-impressive performances over the years. They have some big names in their coaching team like the famed Gary Kirsten under whom India won the world cup. But even a person of Kirsten’s caliber couldn’t change the fortune of the ill-fated Daredevils side. They have reached the semi- finals on three occasions but haven’t made past that stage. They have a good fan following but their fans haven’t had much to cheer about. Even in this season, their performance was not up to the mark and languished at the bottom of the table, only above an even miserable KXIP side.

In this article, we will analyse the reasons for their poor show in the league.

1. Yuvraj Singh’s Flop Show:

The million dollar man was bought for a whooping 16 crores, but he disappointed with poor performances with just 2 fifties in the entire season. He didn’t do justice for the amount of money spent on him and kept getting out playing non-chalant shots. He was also not as good a bowler as he was earlier and couldn’t be utilised as a part timer this time around. Yuvraj was a pale show of himself and never played to his full potential.
