India will face hosts Australia in 5 ODIs and 3 T20I matches that have been eagerly awaited. India has some new names in the ODI lineup. Middle-order batsman Manish Pandey, who has been in fine form for Karnataka and played for India against Zimbabwe on an away tour, has been given a chance in the ODI team along with Himachal Pradesh’s all-rounder Rishi Dhawan and Punjab’s  left-arm fast bowler Barinder Singh Sran, who was a part of Rajasthan Royals. The great news is that the experienced trio of Ravindra Jadeja, Ishant Sharma and fit again Mohammed Shami have also been included in the squad. India looks strong enough to beat the Australians in their own den and here are 5 reasons for the same:

1. India’s bowling looks strong:

Ravichandran Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja and Mohammed Shami give India a comfort zone. Since the start of the tri-series in Australia last year, India has been without this bowling combination in limited-overs cricket. Jadeja was injured and then dropped; Shami was spectacular in the World Cup but injured and hence out ever since. At their best, Shami, Jadeja and Ashwin provide India 30 overs of control and incision. The presence of Jadeja and Ashwin at numbers 7 and 8 add depth to the batting as well. Ishant Sharma, who has been India’s best fast bowler in Test cricket recently, further strengthens the bowling. Umesh Yadav and Sran will also look to exploit pace and bounce that is generally a given on most Australian pitches. With bowlers at their best, India will revive their limited-overs fortunes dramatically.
