Without a shred of doubt, one can state that the year 2020 belongs to the slam-bang version of the game. Most of the international teams will be playing bilateral series in the build-up to the T20 championship scheduled in Australia later in the year. Besides several T20 tournaments will be played around the globe. On its road, this carnival will entertain the cricketing community and one of the important stops is India where the 13th edition of IPL will take the center stage in the coming months.

Once again it will be a special event as the tournament is entering a new decade with whole new possibilities. One such possibility for which the fans are eagerly waiting is Royal Challengers Bangalore’s maiden IPL title. Though the team has been charming the audience with their brand of cricket their championship cupboard is bare. So its time that the Virat Kohli-led side turns the tide as the team has all the weapons to win this iconic seven-week battle.

Here is the list of 5 reasons why Royal Challengers Bangalore can win IPL 2020:

Historically the Bangalore franchise has always believed in foreign investments and it is evident from their choices in the past. Whether it is the appointment of Kevin Pietersen as their skipper in the 2009 IPL or making players like Ab De Villiers and Chris Gayle Bangalore’s local heroes they have usually placed their bets on overseas commodities. Yet the things haven’t been favourable for the Bold Army and that’s why now they have turned towards the domestic talents.

RCB has finally decided to utilize the products of Indian origin to fulfil their IPL dreams. In simple terms, this time the Virat Kohli-led side is banking on their home-grown talents to reverse their IPL fortunes. Especially one can clearly understand their change of plans for the upcoming season from their list of retained players.

Instead of retaining international stars like Shimron Hetmyer and Colin de Grandhomme they have focused on nurturing Indian domestic talents. Players like Shivam Dube, Washington Sundar, and Gurkeerat Mann have been trusted with their abilities and are most likely to form the core of the team in the 13th edition. In the history of the league, a team having a strong Indian core has usually won championships so Bangalore has already taken a step in the right direction.
