Back in 2018, Kedar Jadhav’s demand in the IPL auctions may have raised a few eyebrows. He was bought by Chennai Super Kings for INR 7.8 crore after a fierce battle with Rajasthan Royals and Sunrisers Hyderabad. The right-handed batsman was a regular part of the ODI team back then. Unluckily, he got injured in the first match, but not before scripting a fantastic win for his side.

The next two seasons for Jadhav were nothing short of miserable. In the 2019 season, he scored 162 runs at an average of 18 while scoring just 62 runs at an average of 20 in the 2020 edition. Both occasions, his strike rate was less than 100.

Ahead of 2021 auctions, CSK releasing him was expected. At an age of almost 36, out of the Indian team and no remarkable innings to his credit, Jadhav’s time in the IPL might have been over. He might be unsold in the upcoming auction. The only advantage to him would be the fact that he is an Indian player and several teams look to stack up to their resources with those.
