2. Chris Gayle
More than this cricketing prowess, Chris Gayle aka ‘The Universal Boss’ has been an entertainer. He is unflinching and doesn’t prefer bowlers dictating terms to him. Back in September last year, the Windies couldn’t attain direct qualification for the World Cup. The horror of horrors, the three-time World Champions had to play the Qualifiers and the onus somewhat was on Gayle to shepherd his team.
He wasn’t overwhelming but ensured that his team doesn’t suffer any hiccup. Gayle isn’t the force he used to be a couple of years earlier, but he hasn’t run out of gas by any means. He will be nearing 40 by the end of next year’s tournament and there’s a massive chance that he may hang his boots after that. Moreover, he previously mentioned that next year’s event in England will be his World Cup.
