1. Sheryas Iyer:
As soon as the Indian Premiere league (IPL) got over, there were voices from all the quarters, enchanting the name of the new wonder boy of Indian cricket- Shreyas Iyer. The 20 year-old Mumbaikar in his very first Ranji season, won many accolades and grandeur with his abrupt display of consistency and temperament. In 10 first-class matches, he accumulated 809 runs at an average of 50.56. While in 6 List A matches, he has piled up 273 runs at an average of 54.60.
When he got the chance to represent Delhi Daredevils in IPL, he pressed his case for national call-up even stronger. Smashing 439 runs in 14 innings at an average of 33 and strike-rate of 128 in the recently concluded IPL. He showcased his appetite for big runs and seems technically firm with all the features of a modern day dashing batsmen.
On this tour, he could have showcased his top notch skills with the bat in hand and prove his guts for the vacant position of number 5 in the batting line-up.
