Barring his prodigious captaincy and wicket-keeping skills, MS Dhoni has also been the founder of the Helicopter shot. Way back in his formative years, the former Indian captain used to play with his full audacity and strength. He is known for his finishing abilities. Even during his infancy days for India, Dhoni used to powerfully whack it to counter the yorker or the reverse swing.

Perhaps to fully understand the stroke’s underpinnings, the batter eventually has to finish with a flourish by twisting the bat in an overhead circle. Predominantly, the mid-wicket to long-on is generally the area where the shot is ferociously played.

Overall, players who have a strong bottom hand conclusively play it better than anyone else. Also, when our beloved Dhoni was in its utter prime, the shot had an extraordinary cult in the Indian subcontinent.
