Not long ago, the world used to admire and imitate fast bowlers from Pakistan. Aspiring pacers aped former greats from that country and also learned a trick or two from them. However, things seem to have changed now. Pakistani lads are now finding more suitable role models in bowlers from across the border. One of those role models is India’s Jasprit Bumrah.

Recently, a video surfaced on the social media showing a five-year-old boy in Pakistan imitating the young Indian bowler’s delivery action against his peers on a ground. The boy’s action has left the Internet abuzz. A Twitter user by the name of Umair Afridi shared the video saying the kid is a big fan of the Indian bowler and tries to bowl like him every time after watching him in action in the Asia Cup held last month.

Here is the video:

Bumrah impressed all with his bowling in the Asia Cup, taking eight wickets in four matches, especially against Pakistan where he took four wickets at a decent economy. He was particularly impressive in the death overs, making it up for his no-ball debacle against the same opponents in the final of the Champions Trophy in England last year.

The pacer has been rested for the Windies series so far keeping in mind his workload. Team India will need him for the demanding tour of Australia starting next month.

Bumrah differs with Aaqib Javed on his fitness

Of late, former Pakistani fast bowler Aaqib Javed opined that the 24-year-old bowler’s unusual bowling action could leave him injury prone. However, Bumrah begs to differ.

“I don’t focus on what the experts are saying or not. I focus on what has helped me and I try to focus on my body and what do I need to keep myself fit. There is not a perfect action in cricket, tell me a bowler, like that, who has not got injured. I focus on how to improve my fitness level,” India.com quoted the bowler, who has 143 international wickets so far, as saying.
