Rameez Raja is hailed as one of the finest ODI players from Pakistan. In 1987, he had become the first ever ODI cricketer to be given out for obstructing the field. The stylish Pakistani right-handed batsman was batting on 98 and in the last ball of the match required 2 runs to complete his ton. Rameez did complete one run but while taking the second run tried to prevent the fielder’s throw from hitting the stumps and was hence adjudged out on 99. It is notable that Pakistan required 23 runs off the last ball to win the match. Rameez ended the match with the sorrow of missing out on an ODI ton; in the end his team lost the match as well.
