A lot has been said about MS Dhoni since he decided to take a sabbatical from the game. Right after the World Cup ended in July last year, the former Indian captain decided to take a break from the game as speculations on his career grew. There were rumours that the 38-year old might retire from the game after the World Cup.

But to everyone’s surprise, the veteran decided against retiring and instead took a sabbatical from the game which has not ended yet. He has not played a competitive game since the tournament ended. His sabbatical will eventually come to an end this month when he leads Chennai Super Kings in the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League. The thirteenth edition of the league starts on March 29 with the Super Kings locking horns against Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede.

A fitting reply from MS Dhoni

Even though MS Dhoni kept him away from international cricket, he faced criticism. A number of quarters criticised his decision of taking a sabbatical from the game and stated that the former India skipper should never be recalled to the team. Well, Captain Cool has answered his critics in a fitting manner in the newly released IPL commercial.

Ahead of the tournament, the broadcasters have released a number of commercials to get the fans excited and the latest to star in the campaign was the Super Kings skipper. In the commercial, Dhoni could be seen shutting down a critic of the leader of the Yellow Brigade. A couple is poking fun at Thala Dhoni on an aircraft.

Taking cognizance of the couple laughing at a Dhoni meme, Dhoni puts on his headphones before taking a dig at the passengers (or simply his critics) for creating too much noise around him.

Meanwhile, Dhoni would be looking to extend his stunning record in IPL as the Super Kings captain. In the last two seasons, he led Super Kings to one title and one final. The three-time winners are favourites for the title once again. The season is also important for Dhoni’s international career. A good outing could very well brighten up his chances of returning to the team.
