Virat Kohli and MS Dhoni are two of the biggest names in Indian cricket, and their records are nothing short of jaw-dropping. The two batting stalwarts are also known to share a great camaraderie and have never hesitated in expressing their admiration for each other. With Dhoni not playing international cricket anymore, the duo might not be able to join forces on the field anymore. However, their bond is still intact.

On Saturday, Kohli, who’s currently serving quarantine in Mumbai, interacted with his fans through a Question/Answer session on Instagram. With the Indian skipper having over 100 million followers on the picture-sharing website, questions came in from different parts. One asked how the 32-year-old deals with trolls while there were also queries regarding his daughter Vamika.

A question on MS Dhoni was also on the cards, and it evidently happened. One of the fans asked Kohli to describe his bond with the legendary wicketkeeper-batsman in just two words. In response, Kohli gave a heartwarming reply. “Trust, respect,” Kohli wrote. His comment didn’t take long to get viral as netizens were overwhelmed by the star batsman’s gesture.

Making his international debut in 2008, Kohli played a lot of cricket under Dhoni’s leadership and also got a lot of success. On many occasions, the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) also talked about how Dhoni backed him in tough times and inspired him to do well. The duo even has tormented many bowling line-ups by joining forces on the field.

As of now, Dhoni, who announced his international retirement in August 2020, is currently enjoying family time as the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 has been postponed. On the other hand, Kohli is gearing up for the much-awaited ICC World Test Championship final against New Zealand, which gets underway on June 18 at the Ageas Bowl in Southampton.

The Indian team will fly to England on June 2 and will further undergo a 10-day quarantine period upon their arrival. Hence, they won’t get much time for preparation. On the contrary, the Kiwis will meet hosts England in two Test matches before the summit clash against India. This means Kane Williamson’s men will have a great chance to adapt to the English conditions.
